Muchukunda Das is a community artist and facilitator with over 20 years of experience
delivering murals, public art, sculpture and creative engagement projects across Australia, New
Zealand and the United States.
Working through Souls on Fire, he partners with councils, schools, universities, youth
organisations, developers and community groups to create projects that strengthen
communities, empower young people and transform public spaces. His work combines
high-quality artistic outcomes with genuine community participation, ensuring every project
leaves both a physical and social legacy.
His approach is shaped by a diverse background in community development and human
services. Alongside his arts practice, Muchukunda has worked as a youth worker, NDIS support
worker, mentor and foster carer, supporting young people and individuals with diverse needs to
build confidence, resilience and independence. He is a Landmark graduate with coaching
experience, has training in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and empathic communication, and spent four years living as a monk. These experiences inform a facilitation style that is calm,
inclusive and centred on building trust, belonging and meaningful participation.
